Just 65kms away from Mysuru is a small town where one of the most beautiful waterfalls is present. The Shivanasamudra Falls is surrounded by lush green forests and high hills. The river Cauvery flows from a height of 75m and falls into a deep, rocky gorge with an enormous roar to form two different falls dubbed Barachukki and Gaganachukki. The ideal time to visit the Shivanasamudra falls are during the monsoon season from the months of June to September. A huge establishment is setup downstream from the falls and is said to be Asia’s first hydroelectric project and was established in 1902.
