Kukke Subrahmanya Temple

At the Kukke Subrahmanya Temple, Lord Subramanya, son of Lord Shiva is worshipped as the lord of snakes. The temple is situated in the Sullia Taluq in the Dakshina Kannada district. It is also believed that Lord Subrahmanya married Devasena, the daughter of lord Indira at this venue. People who believe in different faith too visit the temple to get protected from many illnesses as believed by many. It is also believed that people who visit the temple are protected from sarpa dosha. The major attraction here is the Garuda pillar which is silver coated and shields devotees from the venomous flames from the breath of the snake God Vasuki.
